Anonymous Official Website
Primary Purpose
In keeping with our 1st Tradition "Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends on NA unity." our 5th Tradition "Each group has but one primary purpose - to carry the message to the addict who still suffers." and the 1st Concept for NA Service "To fulfill our fellowship's primary purpose, the NA groups have joined together to create a structure which develops, coordinates, and maintains services on behalf of NA as a whole." The CTNA Website Primary Purpose is to carry the message to the addict who still suffers and to promote NA unity.
Software Compatibility & Common Technologies
The CTNA Website has been devoloped in accordance with the suggestions outlined in the Narcotics Anonymous World Services (NAWS) Public Relations Handbook - Chapter 10 Internet Technologies.
We strive to make the information on this website accessible to anyone on the internet, regardless of the technology they use to access the internet. This includes the use of dial-up internet, opperating systems, browsers, and software. If you are unable to find or access the information you are looking for please contact the webservant. Your feedback is appreciated!
The information on some of the pages including the Activities page and the Bulletin Board page requires Adobe reader. The use of software and other internet technologies by the Connecticut Region of Narcotics Anonymous does not constitute an endorsement. The programs we use are intended to facilitate ease of use and availability of information. All trusted servants have been asked to submit information to be compiled on the website in a common technology format. For example flyers on the Activities and Bulletin Board pages are submitted in pdf format or they are converted by the website committee from Microsoft Word, Excel, or Power Point format to pdf (a common technology.) Flyers are scanned as immages as a last resort, converting the file results in better download time and accessibility options for those with disabilites.
Accessibility Options
The Connecticut Region of Narcotics Anonymous would like to make all information on this site available to those using assitave technonlogies such as screen readers for the visually impaired. If you use assistive technologies and you experience difficulties navagating the website or accessing website content please contact the webservant.
We are currently working to improve our accessibility options, particularly for the visually impaired. Our goal is to convert the website to a layout where the visitor can adjust the font sizes using their browser, colors will meet the outlines of accessibility for the color blind, and screen readers will be able to access all of the information availble on this site.
The website is currently in need of feedback from those who use assistive technologies, adjust font sizes for easier reading, and people who are color blind. We are also in need of support from those who have knowledge of assistive technologies and visual impairments. If you are interested in helping with our accessibility project or providing feedback via e-mail or phone, please contact the webservant.
Addicts with Disabilities
It is important to note that the world wide web is a resource for people with disabilities. We hope to improve search options for the meeting schedule to include searching for meetings with handicaped access, and also to list resources for those with hearing impairments. There are sign language interperters for the deaf at the Connecticut Regional Convention. We are working on putting together a list of other meetings where sign language interperters are available. More Information comming soon...
